Craftsman Furniture from a Dingle Workshop

Publication date: OCT. 14, 2017
The work is a compilation of traditional and modern hand-made furniture pieces which includes a Longcase Clock, Writing Bureaus, Dining Tables, Kitchen Dressers, Gate-leg Table and Rocking Chair.
Working drawings in colour, photographs and explanatory text accompany each of the pieces which were constructed over a period of thirty years. Anecdotes and working tips which cover finishing and wood selection are included; pine, mahogany, oak, and cherry wood are used in the selected items.
Related quotations from famous writers, some of whom were hobby woodworkers, introduce the individual pieces from each chapter. The author in his introduction points out that he endeavoured to keep the book, about wooden things, from being wooden.
